If you’re torn between an Ergo3D and an Ergoflip, we’ll help choose the more suitable Nouhaus chair for your home office. The brand offers affordable ergonomic seating solutions. The Ergo 3d has been a crowd favorite since the pandemic started. So let’s see what the Ergoflip can offer and what makes it different.
|Nouhaus Chair||Ergo 3D||ErgoFlip|
|Seat height range||18.5”-22.4”||19.1”-22.04”|
Both are affordable ergonomic office chairs but the Ergo 3D is more intuitive
These office chairs can give other expensive brands a run for their money. The units retail at less than 500 dollars but they can offer more value.
Looking at both options, you can see the difference in how the backrest was designed. That of the Ergo 3D has two separate back parts, the upper back, and the lumbar part. And this is what makes the chair more intuitive. It can adjust to the user’s movement. That’s why it was easy to fall in love with this.
It does serve those who have an aching back, hips, and legs. Especially if you’re working for more than 6 hours, this is a treat for your body. It’s also in mesh, so you will not get sweaty.
The ErgoFlip, on the other hand, has a more basic backrest, it’s all mesh, but it’s made of a single part. It also has that S-shape that can support the normal curvature of your back. So in a sense, the ErgoFlip, can still provide a comfortable seating experience compared to an office chair that does not have an S-shaped backrest.
But if you do plan to use a chair for longer hours the Ergo 3D will be a better option. And if you need more support for your back, it’s also a better choice.
The ErgoFlip will offer a more firm super since it is also less liberating. But we can still see it offering less firm support than the Aeron. It’s less firm than the Aeron, but you can still get that decent for your entire back. But of course, since the back support isn’t intuitive or dynamic, it will have restrictions.
The ErgoFlip is not for those who need more advanced support. If you need a more supportive mesh office chair, the Ergo3D is a better chair.
The ErgoFlip can be used by taller people
Looking at the height range of both units, the ErgoFlip can go a bit higher by a few inches than the 3D chair. As such, it can be a fitting option if you stand taller than 6’8” and find the Ergo3D not getting high enough for you. Both units have almost the same features, you can still enjoy the same convenience. The ErgoFlip can accommodate folks who stand up to 6’1”
But keep in mind that you have to let go of the intuitive backrest. Though comfortable., it will not be able to provide more fluid back support, the chair will not move with you. So this will work for taller guys who just need basic back support.
Also, the load capacity for both units is around 275 lbs. But we don’t recommend the ErgoFlip, for those who weigh 240-250 lbs. It isn’t that the chair is flimsy or has poor construction. It’s just that at this load, there is a significant discomfort on the legs and hips. The weight tends to push the mesh material, thus making you feel the material of the chair. The longer you sit on it, the more it digs into your tush.
And though the ErgoFlip has a deeper set, the set width is a bit narrower. So we also do not recommend this chair for those who have bigger hips. But you will find it more comfortable than the Ergo3D if you have longer legs.
The Ergo 3D is very comfortable but it does have limitations
Looking at the adjustable features and a more intuitive and dynamic backrest, it’s easy to see that the Ergo3D offers a more comfortable experience. And if you are going to use the chair for long hours, the choice is pretty obvious.
But of course, there are limitations. The Ergo 3D is not for taller people. It’s best used by folks with average height or those who stand up to 5’8”. But your legs must not be longer than your upper body, otherwise, you might find the chair lacking. The seat depth is also shorter than the ErgoFlip.
We also don’t see it as a heavy-duty unit. So you will be able to maintain the integrity of the chair longer if you are less than 250 lbs.
Who can find the ErgoFlip a better option?
Taller users with just a basic need for back support will find the ErgoFlip more usable. It costs less than the Ergo 3D, but only by a few dollars. That’s why we don’t really see it as a better option if you’re trying to go for a more affordable ergonomic chair. It’ll be better to just go for another brand if your main reason for choosing the ErgoFlip over the 3D is just the price.
Also, the ErgoFlip has non-adjustable flip-up arms. So this is something to consider if you want to change the arm height. The arms of the 3D, though adjustable, are not the most comfortable. We even wished it had some sort of padding to render it softer on the skin. So if you don’t mind an armless office chair, the ErgoFlip can also be an alternative. Though we don’t see this as a major deciding factor.
The ErgoFlip can be one of the best task chairs
Seeing that the ErgoFlip has several limitations, there is one area where it can excel the most. When used as a task chair, you will not have much. It’ll be a more supportive and comfortable task chair.
Though the price may be a bit higher than a 200-dollar basic task chair than other basic task chairs, it will offer a more supportive back and more adjustable features. You just need to add a bit more but might be getting more value with that small add-on price
So this can be a task chair for those of average weight who need more back support. And this can also be an office chair for average-height folks. who need just the basic back support.
